Configure Your Own DNS Proxy

When you talk about DNS, the first thing that comes into your mind is an IP address. However, a DNS is not always used directly by end users. For instance, when a web page has been requested by an ISP, it will not have an IP address, but instead it will use a Domain Name System (DNS) instead. A DNS is a part of the Internet Protocol (IP) that maps an IP address to a name. As mentioned in, an ISP can send an IP packet to a web page, but the information will be passed through a DNS before reaching its destination.

So, why would anyone want to use a proxy? If your internet connection is slow or sometimes unreliable, a proxy may be the answer to your problem. A DNS proxy basically forward DNS queries and answers between a DNS server and DNS clients. As mentioned in, a DNS proxy forwards DNS queries to a DNS server, which then responds to the request from the client. This way, you do not need to go through the trouble of typing in long IP addresses or even make use of any port number. Instead, you can get to your desired site with fewer clicks.

There are two ways in which you can configure this feature. The first way is to go through the proxy configuration file and set up the required options. Usually, this process will not take more than five minutes. You will have to enter the host name of the domain you want to configure, the port number, the protocol type, the DNS name of the server and a few other useful details. Once you have entered all these details, you will be able to finally configure your dns proxy.

You can also manually add DNS queries to your cache. However, doing this is not recommended, as you may unknowingly block legitimate traffic. Furthermore, you can manually delete any DNS entries you may have created. Deleting any DNS entries may adversely affect the functionality of your dns proxy cache. Therefore, it is advisable that you leave this task to the services provided by your web host.

One more way to configure your dns proxy is to use an automated program. This program will ask you for your dns proxy server address and will then send the requested information to your computer. The advantage of using this method is that this application can usually detect any malicious or accidental DNS requests made to it. It will then immediately abort the DNS request.

There are also some free proxy configuration tools available on the internet. These tools allow you to manually configure your dns queries. Apart from being easy to use, they are also quite convenient as they do not require you to memorize a large number of complex commands. They have a graphical user interface, making it very easy for even a beginner to configure dns settings.

To begin, you should click Start, then Run. In the box, click “Run”, then type “msconfig” in the field. In the “MSconfig” dialog box, enter “true” in the” Startup Type” area. Then, click OK. You will see a message at the bottom of the screen indicating that a proxy configuration has been detected.

After clicking this button, a new window will open. Click “New” and fill out the required information. Once done, click on “OK”. A window will appear, indicating that now you are able to set the IP and name of the proxy server you want to connect to. You can then enter the IP address of the server you want to use and click “Save Changes”.
